General FAQs
What type of lodging is available?
Our fort boasts a variety of lodging options including cozy bunk rooms, courtyard bedrooms, and luxury suites as well as traditional outdoor camping (no electric) and glamping in one of our yurts.
What activities are available?
Platte River Fort is located on 235 acres of natural wilderness. Guests may enjoy hiking and exploring the property, tubing, kayaking, or paddleboarding down the river, fishing (must have a current Colorado fishing license), playing a rousing game of horsehoes or cornhole, or just relaxing by the firepit.
Do you allow pets?
Pets are allowed in the campground, and for a fee, they are allowed in the yurts. (Nightly pet fee of $30.) Pets are not allowed in the Main Fort Building (including the suites and courtyard rooms). Pets are permitted in the Yurts for a nightly pet fee of $30/night.
Do you offer any food or beverages?
Food and beverages are available when our onsite restaurant, Hank’s, is operating. Keep in mind that hours are very limited. Other restaurants can be found in the nearby towns of Kersey or Greeley. NoCo Nosh and Grubhub deliver to the Fort, however, guests will need to meet them.
Do you provide equipment for use on the river?
Guests will have access to river tubes. They are also welcome to bring their own kayak, SUP, or fishing equipment.
What is your smoking policy?
Smoking is allowed in designated areas only. We are not 420 friendly.
What is your cancellation policy?
Time of booking to 21 days out: Cancellation fee of 20%
22 days to 8 days out: 50% refunded
7-0 days out: No Refund
Any promo codes used are final, no refunds
No refunds will be made due the discomforts of nature, early departures, illness, evictions and/or other situations.
Is WiFi Available?
We do have wifi available for our guests, please inquire of cost and password to access.
Is there a gift shop or convenience store on site?
At this time we do not have a store onsite. There is a Family Dollar 1.5 miles away in Kersey or there are several options in Greeley, which is 5 miles away. We do offer ice, tube rentals, PRF frisbees and firewood. All of these items are available for sale on the property.
What Forms of Payment Do You Take?
We take all major credit cards through our reservation platform. If you would like to pay cash, please call 970-590-4414 to make arrangements.
