At Platte River Fort our mission is to create a once in a lifetime experience for our guests and our community. To do this, we have established a culture that supports our team members so they can provide exceptional service.

Dori DeJong

Dori grew up on a dairy farm just to the south of Platte River Fort. She graduated from Platte Valley High School and then continued on to the University of Northern Colorado where she played basketball and volleyball and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987. In 1996, she earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Denver School of Social Work and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver College of Law. In 2013, Dori completed a Master of Business Administration at the University of Denver Daniels School of Business. After two decades of working with battered women as a social worker, legal advocate and attorney, Dori retired from the practice of law to manage Platte River Fort full-time.

Dori and her partner, Elaine, have an thirteen year old son, Caden, that keeps them busy. Dori enjoys spending time with family, reading and traveling.

Elaine Carleton

Elaine grew up in Midland, Texas and graduated from Lee High School. She continued on to the University of Texas and received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree. In 1991, Elaine moved to Colorado and attended the University of Denver and received a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree.

Elaine loves owning and working at Platte River Fort because it’s unique and a fun work environment.

Elaine and Dori have a son, Caden, and Elaine has family she frequently visits in Texas. Elaine enjoys reading, traveling and outdoor exercise.

Erin Johnson

Erin grew up in Byron, Illinois in Northern Illinois and moved to Colorado in 2002. She graduated from Byron High School and continued on at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC), playing volleyball for the UNC Bears 2002-2003 Hall of Fame team. Erin graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication with a minor in Media Studies. Erin has been at the Platte River Fort since 2015 and specializes in sales, partnerships, marketing, social media and venue coordination.

Erin has a deep passion for the Platte River Fort along with its mission, vision and leadership. She loves the peaceful surroundings and working with a fun and ambitious team.

Erin and her husband Rich have two daughters, Landi and Tinley and a son, Silas as well as their dog, Render. In her free time, Erin enjoys playing volleyball, camping and traveling.

Cindy Guerrieri

Cindy is a native of Colorado, growing up in Gunnison.

Along with working at the Platte River Fort, Cindy is also the District Accounts Payable Clerk at the Platte Valley School District. She is also the Platte Valley Middle School Volleyball Coach.

Cindy loves working at the Platte River Fort because of the people she gets to work with and she enjoys taking part in our client’s special days.

Cindy has a son, Marcus and his fiancé Tyla and daughter, Bailey and her four-legged child, Tucker. In her free time, Cindy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling and playing volleyball.

Kristen Sutter

Kristen grew up in Early, Iowa and graduated from Schaller Crestland High School. She moved to Colorado in 2013. Kristen continued her education receiving two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Textiles and Apparel as well as History from the University of Northern Iowa. She also received a Master of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska Lincoln.

Previously, Kristen was a Symposium Coordinator for the International Quilt Study Center and Museum and an Operations Manager at a small quilting tool company. Along with working at the Platte River Fort, Kristen is also the Administrative Assistant for the Health and Exercise Science Department at Colorado State University.

Kristen loves working at the Platte River Fort because of the people she gets to work with and enjoys the views! She and her husband, Kris have a one-year old son Ole. In her free time, she enjoys baking, cleaning and sewing.

Jan Clark

Jan grew up in Colorado Springs and graduated from Wasson High School. Jan continued on to the University of Northern Colorado and double majored in Teaching and Biology. Upon graduation Jan worked at Loveland High School as a biology teacher and coached volleyball and basketball for five years. In 1989, Jan moved to Kelso, Washington where she earned a Master’s of Education degree from the University of Portland. She taught biology and was an athletic and academic coach for 23 years. She then moved to Arvada and taught science for three years at Adams City Middle School.

In her free time, Jan enjoys hiking, bird watching and playing with her dog, Albert.

Kaylee Peterson

Kaylee is originally from Kersey, Colorado but calls Casper, Wyoming her home. Kaylee recently moved back to Colorado to finish her degree in Secondary Education Mathematics at the University of Northern Colorado.

Kaylee’s favorite part about working at the Platte River Fort is all of the exciting people and opportunities she gets to be apart of, and the great views always make her day better! She couldn’t ask for a better job or a better group of people to work with.

When she isn’t studying or working, Kaylee spends her time with her four-legged friends. She has a paint horse, Bert that she enjoys barrel racing on and her corgi named Maizie that likes to join Bert and her on the rodeo trail.

Bailey Johansen

Bailey is a native of Kersey, Colorado and is currently attending Aims Community College. Along with working at the Platte River Fort, Bailey also works at 5 Star Coatings.

Bailey loves working at the Platte River Fort because she enjoys seeing our clients in their happiest moments and being part of a team that helps create those moments.

In her free time, Bailey enjoys coaching volleyball, being in the gym, trips to the mountains and being outdoors.
